Hellooo!

That's all I really have to say. Hello world!

"Sleep when the baby sleeps..."

That's what they say, and that's what we try to do.

The Many Days of Christmas

One of the joys of being born right around a holiday is all the wonderful "Baby's First" outfits you get. In addition to my happy Santa feet outfit, here are some more:

Christmas outfit #4:

I wore them all quite well, didn't I?

BRRR!

The other day mommy and Aunt Gillian took me on an outside excursion. It was very chilly out so they got me all settled in my snuggly and then wrapped mommy's big warm coat around us. It kind of looks like it did when she was still pregnant with me, doesn't it?

Happy Santa Feet - Part II

So maybe the best part about this Christmas outfit that my Aunt Krista sent me is this awesome, fuzzy, plush robe that came with it!

I know, you're thinking, "What baby needs a robe?" But look at it! It's so snuggly warm it puts me right to sleep...

Eliza, where are those blasted slippers...?

Tummy time

Tummy time is an important part of any baby's life. We need to strengthen those neck and arm muscles. But boy do I hate it.

Yesterday I still screamed even after I got on my back again.

Today I did a little better. I looked around a while and took in the surroundings.

But eventually I got tired of holding my head up.

Enough already, come rescue me!

Weetabix meets Atticus

A momentous occasion.

Christmas greetings from happy Santa feet!

My aunt got me dressed in one of my many Christmas outfits today.

The best part is the Santa feet:

My cousin Lela would love this, and would keep saying "Ho hoooo" when she saw them!

Cleanliness is next to . . . the toaster?

Mommy has given me a few baths in my short life. It's always a bit of a shock to me to be naked and wet.

She washes my body, and even my hair.

The fun part is rinsing my hair, which we do right in the kitchen sink!

I was pretty patient throughout it all, but really, how many of you bathe next to the toaster oven?

The best part by far is getting all warm and dry and cuddling up in Mommy's arms again.

Getting ready for Christmas

Christmas is right around the corner, so we're getting ready.
Mommy put me in the sling so she could wrap some gifts.

And then I, in view of our Christmas tree, belted out a few of my favorite holiday tunes.

How exciting that I'm about to experience my very first Christmas!

My first trip in the stroller

I've been on a few outings here and there, but today we tried out my stroller for the first time. Pretty snazzy, eh?

It was cold and a little blustery, so I was all bundled up. And so glad my Mommy was there with me!

All in all, it was quite the adventure!

More alert every day

My life as a two-week old is full of fun and adventure, and little by little I'm staying awake some more each day so I can enjoy it.
Here I am in my bouncy seat, just checking out my surroundings.

And this is me and Mommy. I love when she holds me, but I have to make some noise now and then too.

And I'm hanging out with my cousin Chris some times too.

Mostly, though, I'm just learning what's around me in this great big world.

Welcome home!

I went home from the hospital yesterday and got to see where I'm really going to live. Luckily, my Mom and Dad were there too, and they're what I care most about.
Kody, too, of course, although he's a little freaked out by me so far. That's ok, we're all still getting used to each other. But I'm very happy to be in my own home!

Last days in the hospital

The last few days we've been hanging out in the hospital. We're all getting to know each other and figuring out how things work. Mommy is recovering well and loves holding me.

I dig my glass bassinet too.

And my see-through green binky!

But the most exciting thing by far is my car seat. I tihnk this means we're going somewhere?!?

Hello, world, HERE I AM!

Hello! I'm Atticus. I was born on December 6th at 10:57pm. I weighed 10 lbs 1 oz and measured 22 inches long. Yes sir, I am a healthy boy! Here's the first photo of me, shortly after my arrival.

And here I am with my Mom and Dad:

I got my very first kiss from my Daddy just minutes after I was born.

And of course did some snuggling with my Mommy. We all had a bit of a rough night.

We spent some time getting to know each other,

even though I was still a little traumatized by my journey. Here's a sample of my little baby cry:

This morning I'm a little more alert and I spent some time getting to know the world around me.

Here's me meeting my grandfather. Hello!

I look forward to meeting you all too. Just give me a while to get used to this whole big world.
I'm happy to be here!
