Shapes to See

My mom read that it's important to stimulate my eyes and my brain, so she printed out some black and white images for me to look at while I'm getting my diaper changed. My dad had a different idea about what images I should be looking at...:

A Vision in Blue

My mom thought I looked so cute in this beautiful sweater that she made me pose for this picture. Someday, when my eyes turn blue, it'll bring them out nicely!

5 weeks

I'm five weeks old today, if you count by Saturdays, and I'm growing by leaps and bounds. As of yesterday, I weighed 12 pounds, 5 ounces. Do you think I'm getting enough to eat?!

Bathtime fun

I've come to really like my baths. But as much fun as they are, it does get very chilly sitting there naked. Perhaps my favorite part of the bath is afterward, when Daddy warms me up with the hair dryer--I love that!


Of course he takes that opportunity to style my hair, too. Sometimes he gets a little carried away. This is what I looked like the other night...

Things I'm learning from Daddy

I'm learning lots and lots from Daddy. He showed me the computer and told me all about email.


Then later that day he and mom took me to their favorite neighborhood bar, Casey's Tavern. I met Mary and Seamus, who took me right behind the bar with Dad and began my very important wine and spirits education.

I'm ONE MONTH old!

On January 6th I officially turned one month old. Yes, I was a little upset by how fast the time has gone by, too! (And yes, my mom obviously hasn't gotten used to it being 2009 yet...but you get the idea.)

A favorite outfit

My mom and dad love this outfit--and I've already almost outgrown it! There's this really cute alligator saying "Chomp!" on the front...


...but the best part is the feet. Later, gator!

Me and my Kody

Yep, we still hang out together. He likes to come over and snuggle while I sleep. (When I do sleep, that is...!)

My New Swing

My parents got me this awesome cradle swing. They said it's so they can enjoy some peace and quiet, but I'm pretty happy with it, too. Sometimes it puts me straight to sleep, but other times I really like looking at myself in the mirror above me and watching the birds go around and around. Literally hours of entertainment!

Various forms of wildlife

I'm having a little bit of a fit in this picture, but my mom just loves this little duck outfit--and it fits me really well now, too! Notice the duckies on my feet; aren't they cute!


We had some more tummy time today. I still don't like it much, but look at this cool "Ocean Wonders" play mat that I get to do it on! All kinds of sea creatures, great and small. It didn't stop me from crying, but still, how cool! Thanks to my Uncles Jiggy and Sparky for the great gift!



As usual, Kody doesn't ever like to be far from me or from the action. He brought his bone over to have tummy time with me.

My "Aunt" Vanessa

My mom's friend Vanessa drove out to meet me the other day. I had a very nice time sleeping in her arms!

I'm 4 weeks old!

Can you believe it? Saturday, January 3, was my 4-week birthday. I can't believe it either...but here are the photos to prove it!

Happy New Year!

We had some real fun on New Year's Eve! First they dressed me up like Baby New Year. I don't look too happy, but I really didn't mind.


My aunt Krista was so helpful, doing lots of cooking and cleaning for us. And since it was New Year's Eve, she put on her special hat and really got into sponging down the countertop!

and then Chris and Opa put on their New Year hats and played another game!

I don't really sleep all the time...

Me and My Peeps

I've met lots of members of my family--and my honorary family--during my first four weeks of life. My parents weren't too good about recording the meetings at the time, but now here are some pictures of me with all kinds of special people:
